CHAPTER 10 - ALPHA TESTING

Your mission should be ready now. To be sure you didn't mess up the mission in the last steps of the mission creation, always play your mission once created, in real conditions (i.e. no invulnerability nor unlimited weapons). It will allow you to judge of the difficulty of your mission, and thus to adjust AI settings, missiles available etc., and eventually to correct some bugs you didn't notice before.

If you want to submit your mission/battle to the Tactical Officer, be sure to review the EH standards on custom missions at http://tac.emperorshammer.org/base.php?page=5

This course is now over; you should have learned the basics of XWA mission creation, at least in a theoretical way. Only practice can make you a confirmed XWA mission designer. A good way to learn new tips is to study existing missions; use AlliED to see how the mission creator managed to do this or that effect. Feel free too to visit the mission creation board. Some FAQs are answered on the next page of this course; this page is in perpetual evolution, feel free to submit your questions and/or answers to me at dempsey@slayersrealm.com.

Keep in mind that your mission will not be perfect at the first try; you will always encounter an effect you didn't plan even after dozens of created XWA missions behind you, so do not forget the golden rule of mission creation: playtesting and... playtesting.
