 CHAPTER 1 - MENUS
OVERVIEW

First of all, let's have a look at the
menu bar.

      File menu
It allows you to create a new
mission, load, save, all classical functions of such a menu. "Load
by lst" allows you to load a mission by its mission name as
described in the mission.lst file. |
        |

        |
      Edit menu
There you can add, delete, copy or
paste flight groups (FGs) or radio messages, or move them up or down in
the list. Anyway, this menu is quite useless as these functions are
        accessible from the toolbar. |

      View menu
This menu allows you to select
which AlliED sub windows appear on the screen. Classic Editor and Map
views are predefined sets of windows preferences. In addition to the map
window there are five sub windows you can display:

          - Main Pages:
This is the main AlliED window, it displays a list of all FGs or
            radio messages.

 - Datapad: this
window displays all the information relative to the current FG/radio
message and lets you edit that information..

 - Order-Region Selector:
displays a list of all orders for the current FG in the current
region. Allows you to choose the order/region.

 - Waypoints Editor:
this windows allows you to manually edit waypoints (WPs) of the
current FG for the current order, and allows you as well to enable
            or disable those WPs.

 - Texts Sections:
you can there edit the briefing, debriefing, hint and mission
description texts displayed for the mission.

        I will describe these windows
        later. |

        |
      Options menu
There you can set up preferences
for AlliED, like the default type of craft used when adding a new FG, or
the location of your XWA files (be sure to set up the good directories
        there) |

      Tools menu
There are two little tools which
make your life easier when creating a mission; the hyperbuoy wizard
allows you to create hyperbuoys between two regions, while the backdrop
tool adds a backdrop to the current region. I will describe these
elements later when needed :-) |
        |

        |
      Map menu
In this menu you can change some
parameters of the displayed map. |

      Region menu
This menu allows you to change the
current region/order displayed. Useless menu when you use the
        Order-Region Selector. |
        |

        |
      Info menu
        Links and information about AlliED
(free advertising: register it ! it's worth it) |
