3) Flight Group Orders

The image below is that of the Order Screen. It is one of the many flaps that you have on the "Flight Group" main flap. (XvTED is composed of 6 main flaps). Therefore they are "Flight Group Orders". These orders are what gives the craft, ships, objects and starfighters out there the ability to...do something. Without orders they are simply craft that are Holding Steady, with some attributes. Here is the image:

Every Flight Group will need orders to function, except for Asteroids and Containers (Giving containers orders will make them difficult to dock with).

Selecting the Order (*1): To give an order access the black drop down menu, and select the desired order. The FG above is set to "Attack targets".

Targets, Primary and Secondary (*2 & *3): To chose which primary and secondary target(s) the flight group attacks you must use these drop down menus. You can select it by FG, GG, GU, IFF, TEAM, anything. You can even combine the two by unchecking the box that is left to "Either A or B" in which case the target will have to meet both requirements for this perticular craft to attack. This example has "Z-95 Punked", attacking "Flight Group: T/I Viper (1)", and you may have noticed its secondary target is "Global Group: 3", naturally, the secondary target isn't the main priority.

Time Delay/Number of loops (*4): Should your craft have a "circle waypoints" order, where it says "No Effect?" it will say "Number of loops". The number you put there will be the number of loops around the WPs your ship will take before it goes to its second order. Also, in a boarding operation, it will have "Delay" written down, which will decide how long the operation will take.

Throttle (*5): This is a drop down menu that lets you decide which percentage of throttle your flight group will start at. Next to it is the speed that will be given with that throttle percentage. You can set that 1% throttle will be 500 MGLTs (Not recommended for player craft). Suppose you have a capital ship has a waypoint set (it will point to the specified waypoint) and the ship has its throttle set to 0, it will face that waypoint and not move forward at all. Throttle can make a TUG make its mission alot faster, I'm sure you've often seen those killer tugs (XvT TC 15) that attack you at full speed. They have a "Kamikaze Attack" order, with a speed of about 100 MGLTs.

Multiple Orders (*6): You can give up to 4 orders to each FG, you just click on the purple bar that says "No order". Over it you will see the order you set previously. And you just repeat the last few steps and then once the first set order is complete, the flight group will move on to its second order. So I can set his first order to "Attack target: T/I Viper" and the second one to "Fly home". Once T/I Viper is destroyed, it will hyper out, or go to its mothership. Or I could have chosen another target for it, given it boarding orders, etc.

Capital Ship and Starship orders?

The following is a list of orders, and they're listed under the category of craft they are better suited for:
